A better approach is to collect only the data you need for your specific business purposes and forget the rest.

Evaluate all of the data you’re currently collecting and determine what you need and what you don’t need to be collecting. Do you need to store customer phone numbers, birthdates, or credit card info? If not, don’t collect that data. 2. Delete Data When You’re Done with It
